I think I chalk that up to his inexperience. I think this kind of investment in Grossman will payoff. It may bite them in the ass this year (i hope not). He's had great games this season, and alot of the times following a horrible week, and it's just too up and down. I love Rex, I think he's great, but he needs to be more consistent. Even if he just plays like he did last night, every game, and the Bears are money. If he slacks, their I don't think their defense will bail them out throughout the playoffs like they have done throughout the season. But I basically agree with everything you said here.
