What in the world was that? Jerramy Stevens was terrible in Super Bowl XL. He had the opportunity to be the MVP and shut Joey Porter up forever. Instead, he dropped the balls that would have immortalized him with the great performances that the pregame celebration showcased.
The sham(e) of it all is that Seattle still should have won the game. The officiating was bad. Real bad. Even that shouldn’t have stopped them. But the penalties… ouch. Those will kill you… especially in the Super Bowl. How is it that a team can lead in turnover ratio, yards, and time of possession, and still lose the game? I’m still not sure. I have to agree with Steve Young, Pittsburgh did the most with the least and Seattle did the least with the most.
On top of all the trumped up emotion, bad officiating and crying about the location, it was a pretty boring game. The whole thing seemed like it was being played in slow motion. Oh well. Spring training is just around the corner.
