As we get closer and closer to the the most over-hyped sports championship, I’d like to know what sport’s championship is your favorite?

1. NCAA Basketball – March Madness would have to take the cake for me… I generally don’t follow college hoops too closely during the season and it’s still always a really exciting time to watch basketball.
2. The World Series – The Fall Classic is timeless. No matter who is playing there are always stories and tradition.
3. Super Bowl – way too hyped, and occasionally the hype out-does the game, but still it’s for all the marbles.
I personally enjoy watching the NFL playoffs, bowl games (NCAA football), and March Madness because in all 3 ’sports’, the players end up giving it all, because the game they’re playing could be their last. It’s single elimination for all 3, so all the players become playmakers.
Definitely football. (not necessarily the SuperBowl itself) For the season, playoff format and final game. Matchups aren’t ALWAYS the best, but still it’s short, sweet and meaningful. Go home or go on. 16 games that for the most part mean something from the get go. Basketball, hockey and baseball you can easily cut in half. I like baseball too, but the season is toooo fucking long. And I think the playoffs and series games should all be five games.
Personally, I enjoy the West Ridge Park District’s Woman’s Volleyball classic – every spring – what a scene to behold.
Just kidding.
I’d have to go with baseball – since it’s “drawn out” to 7 games, sometimes, which some feel is too LONG, but sometimes it’s just right. (Bars like it too, cuz there’s more games = more money).
Although, with every sport – the media really ruins the “sense of authenticity,” with their silly graphics, and drawn-out, drama stories about how Roy Oswalt ate macaroni as a child, and then threw it up. Some stuff is just “too much information,” you know? If it doesn’t ADD to the game, then it shouldn’t be said.
I also think the NBA Finals used to be REALLY spectacular, but now it’s rather drab. I still love the NBA, but not like it used to be.
